Our client is well known, famous high street brand, they have their products across the country. Due to continued growth and expansion they are looking to recruit an Account Executive.
This is a key role with responsibility for managing and developing our clients independent accounts. Reporting to the National Account Manager you will be expected to drive sales and profit at both a strategic and tactical level, whilst growing existing accounts and cold calling new potential customers.
The role involves building new and existing customer relationships, also liaising with our various departments especially the Field Sales Team, Stock Control and Sales Order Processing. Experience in cold calling retail customers, forecasting, promotional planning and sales analysis would be an advantage. You will also be working alongside the wider National Accounts Team on an ad-hoc basis so it is vital you are a team player with exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
The ideal candidate should be educated to at least degree level or have significant experience in a relevant discipline; and will ideally possess the following skills:
- 1 – 2 years selling experience with a record of exceeding targets;
- Managing a database of customers
- A self-starter able to work under their own initiative;
- Interpersonal skills – a team player with a flexible and empathetic approach;
- Planning and organisational skills – ability to balance competing priorities;
- Strong financial acumen – data analysis and presentation using spreadsheets;
- Confident at negotiating at head office level and experience of managing senior retail decision makers;
- Commercial awareness – evidence of vision in a wider business perspective;
- Strong communicator, including letter writing and presentation skills;
- A passion for providing the best possible products and service to your customers;
- A strong sales person with a tenacious approach who will always challenge the premise of the question;
- The ability to influence, persuade and negotiate;
- Above all, a “can-do”, proactive and achievement focused approach.
