Description
Sales Order Processor - £16k per annum – South Shields

Reporting to the Credit Control & SOP Manager, you will join our team of SOPs based in South Shields in the raising and printing of our retail invoices and credit notes. 

You will also liaise with our third party despatch facility in dealing with any queries.  Part of the role involves maintaining spreadsheets and setting up new accounts, therefore strong communication skills are a must, as you will be speaking to our internal and external customers. 

You will also liaise with our Retail Sales team over product pricing issues and will be expected to identify any pricing errors.

This is a key role for someone interested in developing their career within the Accounts Division.  To do this job well, you will have knowledge of Sage 500, be able to input data quickly and be able to demonstrate an eye for detail.  You must be Excel literate with excellent communication skills. 

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Raise orders/credits and invoices for our customers
  • Transmit and print invoices to our third party provider
  • Deal with all new customer set ups
  • Answer queries from internal and external parties
  • Use of software transfers
  • Carry out the end of month closure processes
  • Liaise with internal and external customers over price and stock issues
 
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Previous experience or a relevant accounts & numeracy based qualification or study is essential for career development, as is the following skills and knowledge:
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Sage 500
  • Evidence of data entry accuracy and speed as well as an eye for detail
  • IT Skills, particularly MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • A team player - evidence of working in a team environment
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Reliability and flexibility
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment under pressure
