Our client is a well established worldwide organisation based near Colchester they provide software solutions and hardware for networking, storage, processor boards, switches
Due to continued growth and expansion they are now looking to recruit a Components Controller.
The Role
Maintain the job list and engineering stock of mechanical parts made internally.
Supply development or production stock components to company engineering teams at other locations, worldwide.
Using the sample request procedures, obtain up front component information, including quotes, to reduce the Engineer time taken for approving new parts.
Ensuring regulatory data for components is complete and up to date.
Ensuring reliability data for components is complete.
Approving alternative component sources.
Creating and controlling the release of engineering drawings for electronic circuit board assemblies, cables and simple mechanical parts to Operations.
Loading prototype and pre-production batch BoMs for all variants that will be built, using manufacturing control system software.
Packing items for shipment
Completing all necessary paperwork and documentation.
Experience
Be qualified to ONC (or equivalent) level or demonstrate considerable and relevant work experience in the high technology electronics sector.
Be computer literate.
Have practical experience of electronic product manufacturing or test.
Have experience of Drawing Office practices; use of a mechanical CAD package an advantage.
Be familiar with manufacturing documentation and change control procedures.
