Business Development Manager (Business Software) – Grantham - £35k basic + commission (£60K)
Our client is a well established Software company based in Grantham, due to increased productivity they are now requiring a Sales Executive.
Job Purpose
To promote and sell software developed by our client, by generating leads, completing ITTs, arranging software demonstrations, following-up and closing deals.
Duties include attending marketing events (e.g. networking event and exhibitions), cold calling prospects, driving to customer sites for demonstrations, keeping leads active, closing sales and achieving targets.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Lead generation will also be done by the company
• Follow-up leads via email and telephone.
• Cold call to generate new leads
• Generate speculative mailings to generate new leads
• Attend marketing events to generate new leads
• Update the internal sales CRM and forecast systems.
• Keep existing leads warm where no immediate action is required.
• Learn, in detail, the software solutions that you are selling.
• Keep abreast of changes in the software and update knowledge accordingly.
• Complete “Invitation To Tender” documents, which may range from simple queries to full blow official tender documents.
• Arranging and attending software demonstrations or workshop sessions.
• Arranging and attending reference visits, i.e. where a prospect visits an existing customer to see the software in action.
• Keep detailed documentation of all aspects of the sales process.
• Help clients understand their potential needs in terms of new development that they may require and communicate those development needs correctly and clearly back to the office.
• Close deals in a professional manner, ensuring that the client has not been mislead or have unrealistic expectations. Note: commissions are due on customer payment, not a customer’s order.
• No after sales account management is required, but is allowed if the salesman feels he or she would benefit from keeping an existing customer happy so that they will act as a reference site for new potential sales.
• Any other duties that may reasonably be required from time to time be required.
You will be required to use your own vehicle but will be able to claim back your mileage.
