Learning and Development Manager (Legal Sector) – Leeds - £35k - £45k plus excellent benefits
Our client is one of the UK’s leading law firm and they are looking to recruit a talented and professional Learning and Development Manager to work within their busy HR department.
The ideal candidate
Ideally you will be working in a learning and development role currently coupled with a general HR background as not only will you be responsible for the learning and development for the business, you will also be involved in a variety of HR projects.
Job purpose
To provide a first class learning and development function for all employees.
To support the Head of HR in relation to more general HR duties with the purpose of providing a professional, proactive and efficient service to the partners and employees.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Learning and Development
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and with them develop learning and development plans for their teams.
- Establish processes to identify, recognise and challenge talent.
- Conduct training needs analysis and formulate action plans.
- Design and structure L&D initiatives which address training needs.
- Be creative and proactive in putting forward L&D initiatives to all parts of the business.
- Research and source external training and development providers, develop and maintain those relationships.
- Coaching and mentoring for staff and managers.
- Effective operation of appraisal scheme.
- Design and delivery of on-boarding and inductions.
- Compile and maintain the training budget in conjunction with key stakeholders.
Generalist HR Duties
Assist Head of HR with more generalist operational HR matters. Some of the immediate projects include:
- Launch and implementation of the Firm’s Communications Strategy;
- Talent Engagement Programme
- Embedding the Firm’s Core Values
- Facilitation of Employee Forums
- Promoting diversity within the Firm
Person Specification
- Educated to degree level, preferably with L&D qualifications such as CIPD
- Good knowledge of learning theory and methods
- Experience of designing and implementing leadership and management training programmes
- Ability to work proactively and collaboratively
- Joining a relatively small HR team so adaptability and the willingness to be flexible and learn and try new things will be essential
- Extremely professional with impeccable presentation skills
- Assertive interpersonal skills
Terms
- Full time, 37.5 hours per week 9.00-5.30, Monday to Friday
