- IT Support Engineer – Grantham – £15,000 - £18,000
JOB PURPOSE
To provide first line technical support to customers. To assist the Support Manager in coordinating helpdesk activities to ensure service level targets are met or exceeded. To promote and develop the helpdesk function and software to improve customer satisfaction, job turnaround and internal communication.
Duties will primarily include receiving first line telephone support calls and emails at our Grantham based help desk, diagnosing problems, testing software changes and deploying updates, whilst communicating effectively and courteously with the customer at each point.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide first line customer technical support, mainly by telephone and email.
- Assist in coordinating and prioritising helpdesk jobs. Complete allocated jobs within specified pre-agreed target times. Ensure escalations are made where necessary.
- Ensure internal and external communication from the Support Team, including regular contact with customers until job closure is achieved, is effective and of a high standard.
- Report on helpdesk overdue jobs/problems to line manager on daily/weekly/monthly basis.
- Testing and deployment of software to customers.
- Adhere to the company’s policies and procedures in relation to confidentiality of client data and the Data Protection Act.
- Any other duties that may reasonably be required from time to time be required.
